High Voltage Disc Glass Electric Insulators Pin Type Insulator For Transmission Lines

Disc-type suspension insulator (referred to as suspension insulator for short) is used in AC overhead power lines, substations and electrified railway catenary lines with a rated voltage of over 1000V and a frequency not exceeding 100Hz, functioning to insulate and fix wires.

Disc-type suspension insulator, referred to as suspension insulator for short, is used for insulation and fixing wires in AC overhead power lines, substations and electrified railway catenary lines with rated voltage above 1000V and frequency not exceeding 100Hz. Because of its structural characteristics, the disc insulator has obtained superior mechanical and electrical strength, in addition, through the serial connection of components, can obtain any voltage level of the insulator string, so it is widely used in high voltage, ultra high voltage and ultra high voltage line, is an important line insulator.

    Glass Disc Suspension Insulator

The function of a glass insulator is to hang many disc-shaped insulators at one end of a high-voltage power line connection tower, which is used to increase the creepage distance. It is usually made of glass or ceramic and is called an insulator. In order to prevent floating dust and other pollutants from adhering to the surface of the insulator, forming a path that is broken down by the voltage at both ends of the insulator, which is called creepage. Therefore, increasing the surface distance, which is called creepage distance, and discharging along the insulation surface, which is called leakage distance, is called creepage distance. creepage distance=surface distance/system high voltage. Depending on the degree of pollution, in heavily polluted areas, a creepage distance of 31 millimeters/per kiloliter is generally adopted. Zero value insulators refer to insulators whose potential distribution at both ends of the insulator is close to or equal to zero during operation. The influence of zero or low value insulators: The insulation of line conductors depends on the insulator string. Due to manufacturing defects or external factors, the insulation performance of insulators will continuously deteriorate. When the insulation resistance decreases or becomes zero, it is called low or zero value insulators. We have tested the line and found that the proportion of zero or low value insulators is as high as about 9%. This is another main reason for the high lightning trip rate of our company's line. Insulators are smooth and can reduce the capacities impedance between wires to reduce current loss.
